What are we living for?

What is our purpose in life? Are we living to amass wealth or to run a heavenly race? It baffles me that while some people are living in abject poverty others are living with wealth that even the fifth generation after then wont even be able to spend. Life is funny, difficult, hard, soft, tiresome etc. Yet life is beautiful
