Rihanna has never been shy about showing some skin, but she made some major shockwaves when she showed up in a sheer, sparkling gown at the Council of Fashion Designers Awards on Monday. The outfit left almost nothing to the imagination, and even less when she twerked for friends in a video that went viral. And all this came after she made headlines for posing nude in French magazine Liu.
TLC was not impressed. The groundbreaking female R&B duo spoke out on the Sunrise morning show in Australia, where they're currently playing sold-out shows. The Grammy-winning group criticized the "Diamonds" singer for constantly flaunting her body and using sex to sell records.
TLC discusses Rihanna at the 2:00 mark in the video below:
"Every time I see you, you don't have to be naked," said Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins.
"We became the biggest girl selling group of all time with our clothes on and that says a lot," she added. "We could go around too with booby cakes [breasts] out all day long," she said.
Harsh criticism, to be sure, but it appears that RiRi may end up having the last laugh. In a clever, strategic maneuver, she changed her Twitter header to a photo of the members of TLC... topless. Oops! So while TLC may have had a valid point, Rihanna cleverly undermined them by making them look like hypocrites.
